Kareena Kapoor faces consequences for titling her pregnancy book using word "Bible"

Bollywood actor Kareena Kapoor has received a notice from the Madhya Pradesh High Court over a petition to have the word "Bible" removed from the title of her book, "Kareena Kapoor Khan's Pregnancy Bible: The Ultimate Manual for Moms-To-Be," because it offends the Christian community.

On Thursday, the single bench of Justice GS Ahluwalia sent out a notice regarding a plea that attorney Christopher Anthony had submitted.

The state government, the publisher Juggernaut Books, co-author Aditi Shah Bhimjyani, Amazon Online Shopping, the superintendent of police in Jabalpur, and the officer in charge of the Omit police station were also served with summons by the court.

In August 2021, the book "Kareena Kapoor Khan's Pregnancy Bible: The Ultimate Manual for Moms-To-Be" was published.

Speaking with PTI on Saturday, Anthony stated that he had filed a high court case in response to a lower court judgment dated February 26, 2022, which had rejected his request for the book to be banned and for the name "Bible" to be removed.

He stated that after the police failed to provide an inquiry report about the criminal complaint against the actor and others for allegedly offending the feelings of the Christian community, the lower court dismissed the petition.
