According to police, passengers, who belonged to the Qureshi family of Adda Laar (Multan), were travelling to Bhakkar to meet their relatives from Multan. The rescue teams shifted the injured and dead bodies to the nearby THQ hospital in Kot Sarwar Shaheed.
Family sources said that a family of village Laar(Multan was going to Layyah to join the funeral rites of their close relative who died.As they reached near Adda Muhammad wala it collided with a trailer No.836 NAD due to over speeding and reackless driving. Consequently 13 people were killed . Who were identified as Muhammad Aslam, Saima wife of Bashir Ahmed, Zeba Daughter of Muhammad Aslam, Shehnaz wife of Muhammad Aslam, Sajjad Hussain ,his two sons Saim and Umair, Dilbar Hussain, Hanifan bibi, Hanifan Dilawar,Names of three children could not be known. While injured were identified as Ali Haider ,Sameer Ahmed,Jibran, Aneesa, Shafiq, Razia, Fahd, Sehr Shafiq,Shamim Akhtar,varsha batool, and Beenash Aslam.They all were hospitalised in Chowk Sarwar Shaheed.
Meanwhile, Interior Minister Syed Mohsin Naqvi has taken notice of the sad incident and sought a report from the DPO. Mohsin Naqvi offered condolences with the victim families and directed the health and rescue officials to provide maximum help to the injured.
