‘If you come to Mumbai, everyone will die" a threatening letter at flight- IAF jet crashed



A threatening note was found in the lavatory of a Chennai-Mumbai IndiGo flight on Tuesday morning, police said here.

The note, scribbled on a tissue paper, was found minutes before the plane landed.

"If you come to Mumbai, everyone will die," it read.The cabin crew immediately alerted the captain who informed the Air Traffic Control, the official said.

The entire plane and passengers were searched but nothing suspicious was found, he said.

An FIR was registered against unidentified persons under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code and further investigation was under way, the official added.

'IndiGo flight 6E 5188 operating from Chennai to Mumbai had received a bomb threat post landing in Mumbai. All necessary protocols were followed and the aircraft was taken to a remote bay as per guidelines by airport security agencies,' the airline said in a statement. 


A Hawk trainer aircraft of the Indian Air Force (IAF) crashed at Kalaikunda in West Bengal's Paschim Medinipur district during a training sortie on Tuesday, a defence official said.

Both the pilots ejected safely, he said

The plane crashed in civilian area near the Kalaikunda Air Force Station between 4 pm and 5 pm while returning from the training sortie.

The official said there was no loss of life or damage to civilian property in the accident.

The plane had taken off from Air Force Station Kalaikunda, which is mainly used as a training base.A court of inquiry has been instituted to find out the cause of the accident.
