Transporters rally in Multan against Petroleum price hike


The transporters held protest demonstration in  Multan city on Tuesday against hike in prices of fuel and threatened to observe complete wheel jam if the raise in rates of petroleum products and CNG was not withdrawn.

The transporters in Multan took out a procession from General bus statnd and marched on G. T. Road till Vehari Chowk. They were holding banners and placards inscribed with slogans, demanding withdrawal of raise in fuel prices.All Pakistan Public Transport Owners Federation protested against the increase in petrol and diesel prices and demanded withdrawal of prices of diesel and petroleum products.

Led by Tariq Zaman Gujjar, Said Mohammad Bakht Sher, Murad Khan, Fauji and Muddasir Khan, the protesting transporters blocked the road to vehicular traffic for some time.

They said that rates of petroleum products were increased frequently during the past four months but the fare list was not revised despite their requests to Provincial Transport and Regional Transport Authorities.
