Governor Punjab Chaudhry Mohammad Sarwar on Thursday said that philanthropists of South Punjab are serving the ailing humanity with missionary zeal and spirit .They are not only mitigating the miseries ,hardships and problems of the people but also encouraging the other people and institutions to come forward for the help of needy people. Expressing his views on the inaugural ceremony of a modern water treatment plant in Government College of Commerce which was donated by Jalaluddin Roomi Foundation. Appreciating the services of Jalaluddin Roomi Foundation , Governor Punjab said that it was doing work day and night to alleviate the miseries of common men and installation of water purification plants to ensure the supply of clean and germ-free water. Governor said that whenever he visits Multan or South Punjab "he found Khawaja Jalaluddin Roomi engage in servicing to humanity". Governor Punjab called Khawaja Jalaludin Roomi "a Gauhar-e-Nayab" for people of South Punjab who looks satisfied and over joyous after helping the others.He said the Punjab Aab-e-Pak Authority was working with vigour under his supervision to provide clean drinking water to the people, adding that government would provide clean drinking water to the people very soon. The Governor Punjab said this plant in the Commerce College was a gift from Jalaluddin Roomi Foundation to the student and other staff. It would provide clean drinking water to about eight thousand people, he added.
Khawaja Jalaluddin Roomi, Noted industrialists, former President of Multan & Dera Ghazi Khan Chamber of Commerce & Industry,Ex-Punjab caretaker Minister for Industry and Director of Board of Investment and Chairman of Jalaluddin Roomi Foundation while expressing his views on this occasion, said that it was a very significant day of my life that our foundation has installed a 400-feet deep water treatment plant in Multan city's old and prestigious institution which has started supply of clean and germ-free water to thousands of students and teaching staff. It would be beneficial for more than 8000 people. Roomi said that We have already installed 14 water treatment plants in different areas of Multan city to provide purified water to millions of people. With the blessings of Almighty Allah ,these plants helped in reducing the diseases of liver & Kidney .Khawaja Jalaluddin Roomi further said that we would soon install 100 hand pumps in Multan city and suburban areas to maintain the supply of potable water. He said that we have expanded our working circle to the far flung areas of Multan, Dera Ghazi Khan divisions and Baluchistan where no water purification project was planned during last 77 years since the inception of Pakistan .He said that our foundation was also purveying food and ration on regular basis to needy people. He said that our aim is to serve the humanity and mitigate the miseries of deserving people of deprived areas. Prof Iftikhar Hussain Principal of Government Commerce College thanked the Governor Punjab and Jalaluddin Roomi Foundation for installing the filtration plant and said that it was their great need which had been fulfilled. He said that with the provision of clean water, a large number of people including the students would be saved from deadly diseases including Hepatitis. Provincial Ministers for energy Dr.Muhammad Akhtar Malik ,Malik Ahmed Hussain Dehar, MNA, and other guest were present on the occasion.
