Five terrorists killed, Army soldier martyred, three injured in North Waziristan terrorist attack

A Pakistan Army soldier was martyred and three others were injured on Monday in an attack by terrorists in North Waziristan, said the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).Five terrorist were killed during an anti-terror operation in Miranshah, North Waziristan, ISPR said on Monday.
“Terrorists carried out fire raid on security forces check post, 10 kilometres west of Miranshah in North Waziristan. Troops effectively engaged the terrorists and killed five of them,” ISPR said.
“During the exchange of fire, one soldier embraced shahadat; while three others were injured,” the military’s media wing said.
Troops have cordoned off the area and carried out a search operation,” ISPR added.
According to ISPR, Havaldar Akbar Hussain Khan, 43 embraced martyrdom in the exchange of fire. He is survived by his wife and four children.
The military’s media wing added that five attackers were killed by the army’s retaliatory fire. Terrorists attacked an Army checkpost located 10 kilometres west of the Miranshah, the district’s main town.
The martyred soldier was identified as 43-year-old Havildar Akbar Hussain Khan. A resident of Tehsil Dir Kot with four children.
“Troops cordoned the area and carried out a search operation,” said the ISPR.
This is the fourth reported clash between security forces and terrorists in North Waziristan over the last month.
On April 13, an Army soldier embraced martyrdom in a shootout with terrorists. Two terrorists were killed in the operation.
The following day, on April 14, another Army soldier was martyred during a shootout with terrorists in North Waziristan.
On March 18, an Army officer and three soldiers were martyred during an intelligence-based operation (IBO) in the erstwhile tribal district. A large cache of arms was recovered during the operation and the terrorist hideout was destroyed.
