Bomb Hoax in two flights- Air India Mumbai-NYC flight diverted to Delhi, Indigo searched

An Air India flight en route from Mumbai to New York was diverted to Delhi following a bomb threat, according to Indian media reports quoting airport sources.

The aircraft with passengers and crew onboard landed safely at Indira Gandhi International Airport, where stringent safety protocols were immediately put in place.

"The aircraft is currently stationed at the airport, and all necessary security procedures are being diligently followed to ensure the safety of everyone onboard," said DCP (IGI) Usha Rangnani.

As part of standard protocol, the aircraft was taken to an isolation bay, where passengers were safely disembarked and moved to the terminal building. A multi-agency team is currently conducting a thorough scan of the aircraft.

No further details regarding the threat have been released. Investigations are ongoing.

Just hours after an Air India flight was diverted due to a bomb threat, an IndiGo flight from Mumbai to Muscat received a similar threat shortly before takeoff.

IndiGo flight 6E-1275, bound for Muscat, was moved to an isolated bay where security checks are currently underway, officials confirmed.

"As per protocol, the aircraft was taken to an isolated bay, and following the standard operating procedure, mandatory security checks were promptly initiated," IndiGo said in an official statement.

The airline added that passengers were provided with assistance and refreshments, apologizing for the inconvenience caused.

The incident follows a bomb threat earlier today on an Air India flight from Mumbai to New York, which resulted in the aircraft being diverted to Delhi for inspection.

The airport authorities and security agencies are on high alert as investigations continue into both threats.

No further details have been released regarding the nature of the threats or any possible connections between the two incidents.
