MULTAN, Jan 8th: Female activists of Pakistan Muslim League Labour wing on Sunday staged a demonstration UNO and Governments of Myanmar & Syria for genocide of Muslims and they burnt the flags of Myanmar and UNO .The demo was led by Dr. Malika Tabassum a leader of PML-N Labour wing Multan. She has led a protest rally against what he called a "genocide" of Muslim Rohingya minority in Burma. She said that Government of Pakistan and Muslim Ummah and OIC should send a strong message to burmese leader Aung San Suu Kyi and her government that "enough is enough" as she vowed to fight for the rights of the Rohingya. She said that the violence has again flared up as Burma's military launched attacks on Rohingya villages following deadly strikes by unknown assailants on police posts along the border with Bangladesh in October.
Female protesters used Sunday demonstration to call for political reform and an end to police brutality. She said the conflict has claimed the lives of nearly half a million Syrians, according to one recent estimate, and at least four million more have spilt across the country’s borders as refugees. She said the persecution of the Rohingya is an insult on Islam. She said "we will not close our eyes and shut our mouth. We must defend them (Rohingya) not just because they are of the same faith but they are humans, their lives have values," Dr.Malika Tabassum said.
