Imran Riaz, Shehbaz Gill and Rajab Butt booked in FIA case for uploading objectionable material

Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) investigated a social media campaign against Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz and FIA's Cyber Crimes Wing in Lahore has registered a case against PTI leaders Shahbaz Gill and Imran Riaz Khan.

In connection with two other cases, three suspects have been arrested from Muzaffargarh, Faisalabad, and Lahore. According to FIA officials, the arrested individuals include Nadeem, Ijaz, and Aamir.

The suspects face charges of running a campaign against the chief minister and a senior UAE figure on social media. The accused allegedly circulated fake videos targeting domestic and international dignitaries.

FIA officials have confirmed that efforts are underway to arrest Shahbaz Gill and Imran Riaz, who are also implicated in the case.

A case has been registered against YouTuber Rajab Butt for allegedly creating content deemed offensive to ‘religious sentiments’, according to police reports.

The case was filed at the Hyderi Police Station in Karachi, where the complainant's statement has been recorded following a court order.

Riaz Ali advocate, the complainant’s lawyer, stated, "The court issued an order after hearing our arguments, directing the police to proceed." He added, "Our next goal is to ensure the arrest of Rajab Butt."

Riaz Ali emphasized that this case would set an example, saying, "In the future, anyone intending to disrespect Islamic values will think twice.”
