A 5.3-magnitude earthquake struck Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Wednesday, sending tremors across various cities. The tremors were felt in Islamabad, Mohmand, Shabqadar, Attock, Malakand, Swat, Shangla, Buner, Abbottabad and Sri nagar (India)The earthquake struck at 8am
The tremors were also reported in Nowshera, Peshawar, Kohat,Mardan, Haripur, Swabi, and Dera Ismail Khan . The epicentre was located in the Hindukush region of the Afghanistan-Tajikistan border, with a depth of 220 kilometres.
Residents reported feeling the ground shake in areas such as Mingora in Swat and Landikotal in Khyber.
There were no immediate reports of injuries or severe property damage, although local authorities remain on high alert for aftershocks or further seismic activity.
The earthquake was also reported in the India-held Kashmir, including Srinagar.
