According to police, the man,Sajjad Hussain Khokhar who is a tailor by Profession , subsequently surrendered himself to the authorities following the devastating act. and {Police recovered the hammer from his possession,Earlier Police claimed that the killer attempted to runaway but they foiled their attempt. Sources said that it might be a matter of honour killing because tailor's wife had reportedly developed illicit relations with neighbour.
DPO Muzaffargarh Syed Hasnain Haider told that the victims were identified as 40-year-old Kausar Mai (Wife of killer), 8-year-old daughter Ansa bibi, 7-year-old Kinza bibi, 6-year-old Rimsha bibi, 4-year-old Mehnaz bibi alias Mano mai , 3-year-old son Ans, 2-year-old Subhan and 4-month-old Munazza.
The Chief Minister of Punjab, Maryam Nawaz Sharif, expressed her profound condolences over the heart-wrenching incident. She directed the Inspector General of Punjab Police to swiftly compile a comprehensive report on the tragedy.
Stressing the importance of a thorough investigation, she urged for severe punishment for the perpetrator.
