MULTAN,August 30th:Khawaja Jalaluddin Roomi Chairman MDPT,Ex-Caretaker Punjab Minister for Industries distributed meals along with Deputy Commissioner Multan Engr: Amer Khattak among the needy people at Chowk Ghanta Ghar on Sunday on the eve of tenth of Muharram(Ashura-i-Muharram).The meal and water was distributed for the Eisal-i-Sawab of his father late Khawaja Muhammad Masood,Chairman of Mehmood group of Industries .He said on the occasion ," We are trying to alleviate the miseries of the people of Multan and adjacent areas by providing them necessities.He said that food distribution were particularly important as progressive reforms drove new approaches to philanthropy in the last decades of the nineteenth century. Whereas charities sought to provide a temporary respite for those without adequate food, clothing, or shelter, progressive reformers turned to science, data, and instruction in attempts to address the root causes of suffering.We have also devoted our energies and finances for the cause of needy people.
Deputy Commissioner Multan Engr: Amer Khattak appreciated the services of Mehmood Group of Industries for down trodden people, handicapped persons and needy people.He said that Roomi’s efforts are in addition to the hundreds of meals served to frontline workers at Nishtar Hospital and other public hospital facilities,which began in April.He said that a number of water purification plants were being run by this him to provide potable water to the people.Ration and financial assistance was given to the workers who had lost jobs during the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic.More than 5000 lunch boxes and mineral water were distributed among the people.A long queue was witnessed at site.
