MULTAN, May 20th: Federal Minister for National Food Security & Research Syed Fakhar Imam met a delegation of Pakistan Cotton Ginners Association (PCGA)led by Mian Muhammad Javed Suhail Rehman, Chairman PCGA and exchanged views on different issues like procurement of cotton stock of 0.5 million bales through Trading Corporation of Pakistan (TCP), abolishing the General Sales tax on the oil-cake (Khal) as approved by the Economic Coordination Committee of Federal Cabinet, Long lockdown due to pandemic coronavirus and attack of locust swarm on the cotton crop , remedial measures and special relief package for ginning industry which is sinking due to swindling down cotton crop and sowing of sugarcane in cotton zone. The delegation also discussed the issue to next cotton crop, supply of well germinated certified seed to growers, monopoly of spinning industry as single/the only buyer,restoration of cotton crop and interference of sugar mafia in cotton zone.Federal Minister Syed Fakhar Imam also contacted the concerned officers to convey the proposals and suggestions of PCGA.The delegation was optimistic that positive outcome would be emerged. The delegation was comprised on Chairman Mian Muhammad Javed Suhail Rehman,Vice Chairman Hafiz Abdul Latif, Group leader Haji Muhammad Akram,Former chairman Shehzad Ali Khan, Mahesh Kumar and Ex-Vice Chairman.
