Adulteration: PFA seals two factories
In the wake of the incident being reported in the media, Sindh IG Kaleem Imam called for a detailed report from SSP Shah at the earliest.
The Sindh Food Authority also sprung into action by sealing both restaurants and taking samples of the food for testing.
Authorities have also taken hold of CCTV footage from the high-end eatery.
Earlier on October 28, the Punjab Food Authority (PFA) had sealed two factories in Shahdara after food safety officials conducted raids at a beverage and a khoya manufacturing factory.
PFA officials found that one of the factories had been manufacturing khoya, a confectionary item, by mixing in chemicals and artificial flavouring.
The unit was also supplying this contaminated product to various shops across the city.
The authority also seized a large amount of adulterated khoya and contaminated milk which was later discarded by the authority.
