MULTAN, Feb 4th: Malik Asrar Ahmed Awan President of Multan Chamber of Commerce & Industry (MCCI)has said,'We are providing all available assistance to special persons so that they could move forward and become productive citizens to earn this livelihood respectfully.During the visit of New Sahara centre here today he met Farhad-ur-rehman, Mujahid Bhatti, Zeeshan Akhtar Sana Malik and Zobia .He lauded the efforts of New Sahara Special Sports and Welfare Organisarion (NSSWO) for the cause of special persons. He said that Pakistan was the 6th biggest country in the world. The progress of any country is linked with its courageous people, he said. Often, parents tried to conceal disability of their kids but there was a need to empower them economically and to put their energies into action for the progress of the country, he added. Asrar Ahmed Awan said that Government should announce the special incentives for persons with special needs as they are blessed with talent. And their urge to study should be maximized by minimizing the hurdles and poverty that they face in their way.Special persons told the President of MCCI said that the special persons in the country are far behind in facilities available to those in the developed countries as even the two person quota for special persons in jobs and educational institutions is not implemented in letter and spirit,They said that there was no ramp for walking of the special persons in the educational institutions and even at major hospitals of the city, let alone other facilities. They said that special persons are facing great hardships when they visit government departments and offices in connection to their problems. They said that the government should establish technical educational institutions and skill development centers so that they improve their skills and become productive citizens to earn this livelihood respectfully.Malik Asrar Ahmed Awan assured them that their voice would be conveyed to concerned authorities and generous people.
