Ginneries received 9.35 million bales till Nov 15- PCGA Chairman

MULTAN,Nov 18th : Pakistan Cotton Ginners Association (PCGA) has issued the figures of cotton arrival upto Nov.15th,2017. Seed cotton (Phutti) equivalent to over 93,58,553 bales of cotton  have reached ginneries across Pakistan as of November 15th,2017,showing an increase of 6.58 per cent compared to corresponding period last year when ginneries received 87,80,543  bales. According to the 5th  fortnightly report of Pakistan Cotton Ginners Association (PCGA) issued here today,Chairman of PCGA Haji Muhammad Akram,Ex- Chairman Shehzad Ali Khan and Mian Javed Tariq briefed the media men about cotton production and said that  out of the total arrivals, 9.35 million bales of cotton have been converted into bales so far. Ginneries in Punjab recorded arrival of  55,44,817 bales against the last year arrival of 53,79,571 bales showing an  increase of merely 3.07 per cent. Sindh ginneries recorded arrival of 38,13,736  bales while last  year Sindh received 34,00,972  bales 12.14% more . Ginneries in Sindh recorded an increase of 12.14 % as compared to corresponding period last year.Textile mills have bought 72,53,401 bales while exporters bought 2,07,029 bales. The total bales  sold out so far were calculated at 74,60,430 bales. While 18,98123  bales are lying unsold .Multan received 2,29,873 bales 8.01%  decrease than last year, Lodhran 1,15362 bales 23.08   % decrease, Khanewal 5,79,527  bales 14.26 %, Muzaffargarh 2,57,752 bales a decrease of 5.77 %, Dera Ghazi Khan 3,28,651  an increase of 16.36 %, Rajanpur 3,99,270  bales, 26.81 % increase,Layyah 2,20,781  bales  2.20.% increase, Vehari 4,82,585 bales  49.71  % increase, Sahiwal 2,14,989 bales 18.09 % more than last year, Pakpattan 33,859 bales 12.62 % decrease, Okara 15,450 bales- 16.97 % short, Toba Tek Singh 1,37,650   bales, 0.67 % short, Faisalabad 32,437 bales 5.55 % more last year, Jhang 19,359 showing a decrease of 32.69 %, Mianwali 1,43,536  a decrease of 29.25 % , Bhakkar 67,155(17.24 % more) Sargodha 7,000 (14.63 % decrease), Rahimyar Khan 7,84,472  bales (5.68 % decrease), Bahawalpur  8,15,248 an increase of 7.41 %,and Bahawalnagar 6,59,859  a decrease of 13.94  %.  In Sindh province: Hyderabad 2,41,616  bales 10.78 % more than last year,Mirpur Khas (Thar) 2,08,747 bales 19.26 % less, Sangarh ,13,49,675  bales  13.09 % increase, Nawabshah 3,29,970 bales (8.59 % increase), Naushero Feroze 3,43,709   bales (17.10 % increase), Khairpur 3,02,891 (22.12 % increase) Ghotki 2,63,336  (12.96 % increase),Sukkur 4,84,827 (15.30% increase), Dadu 38,455 -(12.80 % short, Jamshoro 1,27,818  bales (24.26 % more) ,Badeen 17,335 bales 35.86 % less) and Baluchistan 1,05.355bales (an increase of 55.22%). Total 994 ginning factories are operational in the country.Of them 700 in Punjab and 294 in Sindh.Total 18,98,123  bales are lying in unsold stock.
