Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa presided over a meeting of corps commanders on Tuesday to discuss matters relating to security and defense.During the conference—which lasted for seven hours—the army high command discussed matters related to security and defence of the country. The progress of Operation Radd-ul-Fasaad and infrastructure development in the tribal areas of the country was also reviewed.
It is reported on Tuesday that the country’s law and order situation and border issues discussed at the meeting held at the General Headquarters Rawalpindi.
As per the reports, other than the corps commanders, senior officers were also present at the meeting, where the COAS informed them about his recent visit to Afghanistan and his meetings with the officials there.
The conference was summoned by General Bajwa after his day-long visit to Kabul on Sunday, where he met Afghan president and senior military officials to discuss regional security and border management.
On Monday Pakistan summoned India’s deputy high commissioner over ceasefire violations by the Indian troops along the Line of Control (LoC).
The Foreign Office, in a statement, said that Indian forces resorted to firing in Rukh Chakri and Rawalakot Sectors on September 30 and October 2, killing three civilians and injuring five others, including a woman.
The progress of Operation Radd-ul-Fasaad and infrastructure development in the tribal areas of the country were also reviewed.
According to sources, senior officials of the armed forces were present at the meeting where the COAS informed them about his recent visit to Afghanistan and his meetings with the officials there.
