Ginneries received 50.88 % more cotton than last years during this fortnight

MULTAN,Oct 5th:   Pakistan Cotton Ginners Association (PCGA) has issued the figures of cotton arrival upto October Ist,2017. Seed cotton (Phutti) equivalent to over 33,51,850 bales of cotton  have reached ginneries across Pakistan as of October Ist,2017,showing an increase of 50.88 per cent compared to corresponding period last year when ginneries received 26,45,349  bales. According to the 2nd  fortnightly report of Pakistan Cotton Ginners Association (PCGA) issued here today,Chairman of PCGA Haji Muhammad Akram,Ex- Chairmen Shehzad Ali Khan,Sheikh Muhammad Saeed,Mian Javed Tariq, Khawaja Muhammad Azam, Khawaja Ashfaq Hussain, Sheikh Muhammad Asim Saeed briefed the media men about cotton production and said that  out of the total arrivals, 3.35 million bales of cotton have been converted into bales so far. Ginneries in Punjab recorded arrival of  16,78,576 bales against the last year arrival of 7,88,699 bales showing an  increase of 112.83 per cent. Sindh ginneries recorded arrival of 23,12,671  bales while last  year Sindh received 18,56,650  bales merely 24.56 % more . Ginneries in Sindh recorded an increase of 24.56 % as compared to corresponding period last year.Textile mills have bought 29,60,039 bales while exporters bought 1,45,886 bales. The total bales  sold out so far were calculated at 31,05,925 bales. While 8,85,322 bales are lying unsold .Multan received 56,932 bales 256.20%  increase than last year, Lodhran 36,52   bales 161.61   % increase, Khanewal 2,63,508  bales 79.58  %, Muzaffargarh 59,628  bales an increase of 98.15 %, Dera Ghazi Khan 78,096  an increase of 258.96 %, Rajanpur 97,941  bales, 243.77 % increase,Layyah 68,694  bales  146.17.% increase, Vehari 2,49,722 bales  193.57  % increase, Sahiwal 1,28,352 bales 58.06 % more than last year,Qasur ,Nil ,  Pakpattan 24,958 bales 18.17 % increase, Okara 9700 bales-  3.00 % short, Toba Tek Singh 82,004  bales, 48.72 % more, Faisalabad 22,200 bales 29.88% more last year, Jhang 11,420 showing a decrease of 0.48 %, Mianwali 24,011  a decrease of 12.30 % , Bhakkar 24,380 (58.89 % more) Sargodha 3200 (88.24 % more), Rahimyar Khan 41,335  bales (128.90  % increase), Bahawalpur  1,72,840  an increase of 219.76 %,and Bahawalnagar 2,23,134  an increase of 111  %. In Sindh: Hyderabad 1,90,005  bales 20.61 % more than last year,Mirpur Khas (Thar) 1,91,031 bales 0.75 % less, Sangarh ,11,87,570  bales  24.33 % increase, Nawabshah 201,345  bales (22.76 % increase), Naushero Feroze 1,22,082  bales (37.13 % increase),Khairpur 1,00,227   (69.65 % increase) Ghotki 724  (100 % increase),Sukkur 1,33,172 (38.50 % increase)Dadu  nil, Jamshoro 1,07,678  bales (30.27 % less) ,Badeen 14,882 bales 31.97 % less) and Baluchistan 63,955 bales (an increase of 67.10 %). Total 787 ginning factories are operational in the country.Of them 524 in Punjab and 263 in Sindh.Total 8,85,322  bales are lying in unsold stock.
