MULTAN,Oct 18th: Pakistan Cotton Ginners Association (PCGA) has issued the figures of cotton arrival upto October 15th,2017. Seed cotton (Phutti) equivalent to over 59,84,486 bales of cotton have reached ginneries across Pakistan as of October 15,2017,showing an increase of 36.79 per cent compared to corresponding period last year when ginneries received 43,74,982 bales. According to the 3rd fortnightly report of Pakistan Cotton Ginners Association (PCGA) issued here today,Chairman of PCGA Haji Muhammad Akram,Ex- Chairmen Shehzad Ali Khan,Sheikh Saeed Ahmed, Sheikh Muhammad Asim Saeed briefed the media men about cotton production and said that out of the total arrivals, 5.984 million bales of cotton have been converted into bales so far. Ginneries in Punjab recorded arrival of 30,32,778 bales against the last year arrival of 19,57,961 bales showing an increase of 54.89 per cent. Sindh ginneries recorded arrival of 29,51,708 bales while last year Sindh received 24,17,021 bales merely 22.12 % more . Ginneries in Sindh recorded an increase of 22.12 % as compared to corresponding period last year.Textile mills have bought 42,32,337 bales while exporters bought 1,58.602 bales. The total bales sold out so far were calculated at 44,12,939 bales. While 15,71,547 bales are lying unsold .Multan received 1,20,864 bales 63.82% increase than last year, Lodhran 62,766 bales 31.53 % increase, Khanewal 3,80,910 bales 39.38 %, Muzaffargarh 1,31,758 bales an increase of 45.34 %, Dera Ghazi Khan 1,67,135 an increase of 80.06 %, Rajanpur 2,08,627 bales, 79.24 % increase,Layyah 1,27,536 bales 44.76.% increase, Vehari 3,43,172 bales 118.32 % increase, Sahiwal 1,62,453 bales 35.42 % more than last year, Pakpattan 1,62,453 bales 5.14 % increase, Okara 12,950 bales- 3.77 % short, Toba Tek Singh 1,03,430 bales, 17.80 % more, Faisalabad 27,459 bales 30.76% more last year, Jhang 15,770 showing a decrease of 13.55%, Mianwali 56,600 a decrease of 28.10 % , Bhakkar 39,541(12.03 % more) Sargodha 3,800 (18.75 % more), Rahimyar Khan 2,56,025 bales (84 % increase), Bahawalpur 3,97,577 an increase of 82.47 %,and Bahawalnagar 3,85,339 an increase of 50.73 %. In Sindh province: Hyderabad 2,19,008 bales 13.38 % more than last year,Mirpur Khas (Thar) 2,02,136 bales 2.53 % less, Sangarh ,12,72,431 bales 18.41 % increase, Nawabshah 2,80,027 bales (18.63 % increase), Naushero Feroze 2,15,100 bales (32.34 % increase), Khairpur 1,85,836 (52.97 % increase) Ghotki 77,064 (112.51 % increase),Sukkur 2,76,336 (29.11% increase), Dadu 7,136 -15.14% short, Jamshoro 1,70,490 bales (27.85 % less) ,Badeen 16,326 bales 28.55 % less) and Baluchistan 82,818 bales (an increase of 71.11 %). Total 979 ginning factories are operational in the country.Of them 685 in Punjab and 294 in Sindh.Total 15,71,547 bales are lying in unsold stock.
