At least six people were killed on Sunday in an attack on Tehsildar Fawad Ali’s convoy in Bajaur Agency.
The political administration official’s vehicle was hit by a remote-controlled improvised explosive device (IED) while he was heading towards Tangi Garigal area of Loy Mamon Tehsil early in the morning after an IED blast was reported in a school in the area, APA Khar Arif Yusafzai told The South Punjab News .
Fawwad Ali and his four Levies forces, identified as Muatabar Khan, Beradar Khan, Jan Muhammad and Yusuf Khan, succumbed to injuries on way to the hospital while Rasheed is under critical condition in Khar Agency Headquarter Hospital. The vehicle was completely damaged in the blast.
“A local government officer and four tribal policemen were killed and another was wounded when an improvised explosive device planted on a roadside exploded when their vehicle passed,” senior local government official Anwarul Haq said..
The blast area has been cordoned off by the security forces while a search operation is underway. No group claimed the responsibility for the attack.
