An Ahmadi doctor was gunned down by unidentified attacker in Lahore

An Ahmadi vet. doctor was gunned down by unidentified attacker near Moon Market on friday in provincial capital and the attacker managed to flee away in spite of extra ordinary security measures in the city after an attack on a team of census of population. In which six persons including four soldier were killed .Police said that an unknown assailant shot dead Dr.Ashfaq Ahmed (68).The motive behind this murder cannot be ascertained ,Police are investigating .


Ashfaq Ahmed, 68, a veterinary doctor, was on his way to an Ahmadi worship place (Bait-uz-zikr) to offer friday prayers when he was attacked.
The attacker flagged down Ahmed to stop his car, shot him at point-blank range, and then fled, said Saleemduin, a spokesperson for Jamat-e-Ahmadia.
He added that Ahmed’s 11-year-old grandson was sitting on the rear seat while another man was sitting in the front passenger at the time of the attack. Ahmed died on the spot and his body was shifted to the morgue for autopsy.
The community’s spokesperson said the deceased had no personal enmity and the murder was only motivated by his faith.
On March 30, a cousin of noble laureate Dr Abdus Salam was gunned down in Nankana while his son narrowly escaped in another anti-Ahmadi attack.
Advocate Malik Saleem Latif, head of Nankana City Jamat-e-Ahmadiya, was going to his office at Nankana Sahib courts with his son Advocate Malik Awais on a motorcycle. As they reached near Beri Wala Chowk, an assailant opened fire at them from behind, killing Latif.
