CTD kills 'terrorist', arrests four others in Karachi shootout

The Counter Terrorism Department CTD of Sindh Police on Monday killed a terrorist and apprehended four others during a shootout in Korangi area of the metropolis, officials said.
The shootout took place in Mehran Town when police were searching the area on a a tip off that militants were hiding there, CTD Incharge Raja Umar Khatab said.
As police reached near the house the terrorists started firing on them and in retaliation one militant, identified as Dildar alias Chacha, was killed while four others were arrested, said Khatab, adding that the militants belong to a banned outfit.
The suspects, he said,  were planning to carry out an act of  terrorism in the city. According to police, the suspects were involved in attacks on naval buses and several others heinous crimes.
Police also claimed to have recovered weapons and explosives from the compound where the suspects were hiding.
Inspector General of Police IGP Sindh AD Khawaja visited CTD Civil Lines appreciating the good performance of the team that took part in the encounter against terrorists and announced Rs1 million cash prize for them.
