CM inaugurated Violence Against Women Center ((VAWC)) in Multan.

MULTAN .Chief Minster Punjab Shehbaz Sharif on Saturday inaugurated Violence Against Women Center ((VAWC)) in Multan.Punjab Chief Minister Mian Shahbaz Sharif Saturday said the government was strengthening and protecting women at all levels and launched special initatives for the up lift of women because society cannot progress without women development.
The chief minister said this is the year end of load shedding and the whole credit goes to Prime Minister Mian Nawaz Sharif. He said it is a unique center in its nature

Addressing a gathering on the inaugural ceremony of country’s first Women Crisis Center on Mattital road here. He said the WCC is established to prevent violence against women and the center is the part of a comprehensive program launched by the government for women empowerment and protection. He said the religion of Islam strictly forebode violence against women.
He said those who do not care about judiciary will always be deprived from justice.   
The chief minister reiterated that the government is committed to empower women.
He said those who criticized metro bus naming it “Jangla bus”, were going to introduce service in Peshawar. The chief minister said Peshawar metro should be named to “Jangla bus”. He said the leaders who endorse them as wise person and criticize others are not good leaders.
The chief minister said Rs 6 billion is being spent yearly on Punjab Endowment Fund. More than 4000 girls are released Rs 6000 to each as stipend to continue education.  
He said no society can flourish and develop without providing justice to women. He said only respectable people can eliminate poverty. The government has done a great job for the uplift of women in the society.  
He appreciated the services being provided at the centre and said all the facilities will be provided to women under one roof. He said he was so glad on the establishment of first WCC in Multan to end violence against women and torture. The first WCC is a gift to victim women and they will be protected at all levels, he said. This is the sole responsibility of the government provide justice and shelter to women.  
The chief minister also visited the different sections of the center and lauded the quality of work. He paid visit to center and reviewed available facilities in several sections of the center. Center has been formed under integrated system where women would have facilities like police, forensic analysis, psychological treatment and residence.
According to the Punjab government, the centre is part of a comprehensive programme launched by provincial government for women empowerment and protection.Speaking on the occasion, the chief minister said the government is committed to empower women. He appreciated the services being provided at the centre. Shahbaz said all the facilities will be provided to women under one roof.The chief minister also visited the different sections of the center and lauded the quality of work.The centre aims at improving the criminal justice system in the country. “Such centres will also be established in all districts. They will have police investigation, prosecution and legal aid and medical examination services”, the CM added.The centre is established under the Protection of Women Against Violence Act 2016, masterminded by Salman Sufi, who heads the Chief Minister’s Special Monitoring Unit (Law and Order).The first VAWC has been opened in Multan as the southern region has the highest rate of crime against women.The centres will also be responsible for collection of forensic and other evidence, besides offering mental health and counseling services, and post-trauma rehabilitation under one roof, to increase complainants’ access to justice.He appreciated the services being provided at the centre.
