Pakistani woman detained in India for four years- Minister takes notice

Federal interior minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan has taken notice of a woman’s case here on Sunday after a report telecast on Geo News in the afternoon.
The report said that a Pakistani woman named Rubina had gone from Hyderabad (Sindh) to India along with her husband and her little daughter for treatment in 2012. But her husband left her in Delhi and disappeared with her travel documents.
Later she was arrested by Indian Police and detained in a jail in the Occupied Kashmir where she is living for the last four years.
However, the Jammu & Kashmir High Court ordered to send back the woman to Pakistan immediately but the Indian officials submitted a report saying that Rubina  could not be deported as the Pakistan High commission did not confirm her citizenship.
Now, Chaudhry Nisar ordered Director Passport and Chairman NADRA to verify the particulars of Rubina and if she is proved a Pakistani citizen then make arrangements along with the ministry of foreign affairs to take her back to the country.
The Ansar Burney Trust International is in search of a family of Ms Rubina, daughter of Noor Mohammad, a resident of near Lal Masjid, Musa Colony, who is detained in Jammu jail, India along with her minor child since 2012. Rubina claims that she came to India from Pakistan for treatment of her child. However, since 2012 she along with her minor child is detained in Kot Balwal jail in Jammu, India.
Former federal minister for human rights, Ansar Burney said that Rubina is detained along with her minor child in Indian Kot Balwal jail in Jammu since 2012. Ansar Burney said that as per Rubeena’s claim, she went to India with her husband and daughter for medical treatment. They had valid passports and other necessary documents. However, for inexplicable reasons, Rubeena’s husband left her and the daughter behind in Delhi and took away all travelling documents.
“Rubeena was arrested on November 6, 2012, at Kanachak in Jammu and due to prolonged detention has affected Rubeena’s mental and physical condition.” Ansar Burney added. He requested with relatives of Rubina and general public if anyone have any information about the relatives of Rubina in Pakistan please contact  him
