MULTAN,Jan 03 :Pakistan Cotton Ginners Association (PCGA) has issued the figures of cotton arrival upto January Ist,2017. Seed cotton (Phutti) equivalent to over 1,03,66,057 bales of cotton have reached ginneries across Pakistan as of January Ist,showing an increase of 11.72 per cent compared to corresponding period last year when ginneries received 92,79,105 bales. According to the 7th fortnightly report of Pakistan Cotton Ginners Association (PCGA) issued here today,Chairman of PCGA Dr.Jeso Mal ,Ex- Chairman Shehzad Ali Khan and group Chairman Haji Muhammad Akram,Senior Vice Chairman Suhail Mehmood Haral briefed the mediamen about cotton production and said Out of the total arrivals, 10.36 million bales of cotton have been converted into bales so far. Ginneries in Punjab recorded arrival of 66,17,646 bales recorded increase of 18.71 per cent. Sindh ginneries recorded arrival of 37,49,057 bales while last year Sindh received 37,04,338 bales merely 1.21 % more . Ginneries in Sindh recorded an increase of 1.21 % as compared to corresponding period last year.Textile mills have bought 88,18,785 bales while exporters bought 1,99,244 bales. The total bales sold out so far were calculated at 90,18,029 bales. While 13,48,674 bales are lying unsold .Multan received 2,90,279 bales 130.75 percent increase than last year, Lodhran 1,85,748 bales 105.91 % increase, Khanewal 5,68,296 bales 49.24 % increase, Muzaffargarh 3,16,403 bales an increase of 27.27 %, Dera Ghazi Khan 3,32,312 an increase of 15.38 %, Rajanpur 3,31,312 bales, 18.01 % decrease,Layyah 2,64,425 bales 8.28 % increase, Vehari 3,73,492 bales 24.85 % increase, Sahiwal 2,07,508 bales 14.45 % less than last year, Pakpattan 41,777 bales 37.18 % less, Okara 19,086- 13.63 % less ,Toba Tek Singh 1,55,167 bales, Faisalabad 36,430 bales 26.88 %less than last year, Jhang 30,102 showing decrease of 26.51 %, Mianwali 2,59,243 a decrease of 14.41 % , Bhakkar 61,641 (23.72 % less) Sargodha 9,847(12.07 % less), Rahimyar Khan 11,10,780 bales (Merely 5.49 % increase), Bahawalpur 9,38,173 an increase of 35.05 %,and Bahawalnagar 10,85,079 an increase of 38.40 %. In Sindh: Hyderabad 2,26,976 bales 8.71 % less than last year,Mirpur Khas (Thar) 2,69,832 bales 1 % less, Sangarh ,12,26,093 bales 7.80 % decrease, Nawabshah 3,26,011 bales (4.37 % increase), Naushero Feroze 3,35,941 bales (18.90 % increase),Khairpur 2,86,925 (9.66 % increase) Ghotki 2,96,934 (4.04 % increase),Sukkur 5,22,755 (21.46% increase)Dadu 42,591 bsales (20.62 % increase) Jamshoro 1,12,036 bales (15.76 % less) ,Badeen 27,027 bales 14.47 % less) and Baluchistan 75,936 bales (an increase of 32,31 %). Total 343 ginning factories are operational in the country.Of them 207 in Punjab and 136 in Sindh.Total 13,48,674 bales are lying in unsold stock.
