Teachers of Pakistan observed the black day to draw the Govt's attention towards their demands

Thousands of male & female teachers observed the teachers day as black day in Pakistan as a protest against not meeting their outstanding demands, restoration of dignity of teachers. Daily wages teachers hold a demonstration in support of their demands as they are observing black day on world teacher’s day at outside press club in the federal capital.in support of their demands.Sindh University (SU) witnessed another day of turmoil and disturbance as the faculty observed a black day on Thursday.  World Teachers Day was celebrated across the world including Pakistan to commemorate services of teacher organisations worldwide.
It is aimed at mobilising support for teachers and to ensure that the needs of future generations will continue to be met by teachers. This year’s theme is ‘Valuing Teachers Improving their Status’.
In his message on World Teachers Day Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif said that a teacher was a spiritual father as he educated the nation.
He said that teachers were builders of a nation and imparting of education was not merely a profession but a form of worship and a national responsibility.
Addressing the seminar on 21st Century Teacher Challenges Opportunities Special Assistant to Prime Minister on Law and Justice Barrister Zafar Ullah said teachers are backbone of every nation who have major responsibility to open minds of youth and determine direction.
In connection with teachers day Sindh Minister for Education and Literacy Jam Mehtab Hussain Dahar has said that teaching is a sacred profession and people associated with this profession are highly respected in society.
The teachers shape up the students life who are ultimately the future of country and the hard working and devoted teachers are the pride for any nation, he added.
Parliamentarians also paid highest tributes to their teachers on the occasion of World Teachers Day 2016 which was celebrated across the world.
Member of the Parliament Shafqat Mehmood recalling his student days said that the nation should pay high respect to their teachers to have progress in the world.
Parliamentarian Abid Sher Ali said that teacher have every right to train the student for practical life even if he has to adopt tough attitude because it helps the student later in their life as guiding principles.
Leader Awami Muslim League Sheikh Rashid said that his teachers did play great role in his life.
MNA Rehman Malik said that he has firm belief that a teacher utters absolutely right words so we should come up to the expectations of them. He said the nation should pay high respect to their teachers as this is the only way to progress in the comity of nations.
MNA Samina Khalid Ghurki said that the teachers of our country are quite dedicated to deliver their best and their contribution is leading us towards the path of progress.
MNA Jamshed Satti also paid tribute to his teachers whom he had found a bit hard but he considered it as honour for him.
According to Unesco World Teachers Day represents a significant token of the awareness understanding and appreciation displayed for the vital contribution that teachers make to education and development.
Education International (EI) the global union federation that represents education professionals worldwide strongly believes that World Teachers Day should be internationally recognised around the world.
Various events are arranged in many countries around the world on or around October 5. These include celebrations to honour teachers in general or those who have made a special contribution to a particular community.
On October 5, 1966 the Special Intergovernmental Conference on the Status of Teachers in Paris France was closed and the Recommendation concerning the Status of Teachers was signed by representatives of Unesco and International Labour Organisation.
On October 12, 1997 the 29th session of Unesco s General Conference was opened. During this conference on November 11, 1997 the Recommendation concerning the Status of Higher Education Teaching Personnel was adopted.
