Oct 23rd: Governor Punjab Malik Rafiq Rajwana has said that Pakistan was moving
speedily on the path of progress, prosperity,development andstability.Terrorism
has ended,work on CPEC ,motorway, Gas and power projects was in progress.
Improvement was witnessed in Agriculture and Industrial sectors and job
opportunities are being created.Special attention was drawn towards education
and health sectors.Condition of Government hospitals is being improved. We
welcome the unbiased criticism However no one should put hurdles in the way
ofdevelopment. Addressing an inaugural ceremony of a spinning lab of Textile
Engineering college of B.Z.U university here today he said 4o new hospitals were
being established in the province and "Saaf Pani" project was being
executed to ensure the potable water to every citizen.He stressed the need for
unity among all sections of society.Governor said that present regime was doing
work on the devolution of power and to empower the South Punjab so that
people's problems could be resolved at their door step.Rajwana said that there
are four universities in Multan.Now we are endeavouring to establish an
Information Technology university. He
said that Prime MInister would be approached to announce a mega development
package for Multan on the eve of inauguration of Metro bus project. Government
said that water disposal issue was very serious and we are preparing a master
plan for sewerage system. Government had released some funds for this project
and we would try to get sufficient funds for sewerage system.Governor said that
Out-door of kidney centre was functional while indoor would soon be
operational.He said that 600 beds were being added to Nishtar Hospital Multan
to facilitate the people of
Multan.Khawaja Muhammad Younas Chairman of All Pakistan Bedsheet &
Upholstry Manufacturers Association (APBUMA) said in his welcome address that
Textile College was established inMultan by Late Syed Muhammad Qasim Shah to produce
textile graduates to meet the need of spinning and weaving sectors.This college
had introduced three year diploma courses. Later this college was handed over
to Bahauddin Zakariya University on the instructions of then Governor Khalid
Maqbool. but we could not achieve our objective because agreement signed
between APBUMA and BZU was not implemented in letter and spirit. On other hand,
diploma courses were also stopped. Itsboard of Governors is inoperative forthe
last 30 months,its quarterly meetings were not held.KhawajaYounas said that
representation in BZU syndicate be given to Textile sector/APBUMA.Employees of
this college must be regularised.. Vice Chancellor of BZU Prof Dr.Tahir Amin
said that BZU university was among the 900 the best campuses of the world.
Meetings of Senate, Academiccouncil, Syndicate and selection board are being
held regularly.He said that there were 14 teachers in textile college, five of
them are Phd .We are going to introduce phd in textile engineering in 2017. The
ceremony was also attended by former Punjab Minister for Industry &
President MCCI Khawaja Jalaluddin Roomi,Syed Muhammad Aasim Shah Vice President
of FPCCI,Syed Ahsan Shah, Dr.RopbinaTareen,Dr.Tariq Mehmood Ansari, Dr.Mutahir
