A Pakistan Air Force (PAF) Mirage jet crashed in Karachi

A Pakistan Air Force (PAF) Mirage jet crashed on Tuesday near the city’s Musharraf Colony area, killing the pilot on the spot.
According to officials, a huge explosion was heard as the Mirage aircraft went down near Musharraf Colony of Karachi’s Maripur area. The pilot died on the spot, police officials added.
According to latest report, an investigation to determine the causes of the accident has been ordered by the PAF Headquarters. It has been reported that the jet was meant for training purposes.
“The pilot ejected from the aircraft and sustained fatal injuries,” a spokesperson for PAF said in a statement, adding that though the pilot did not survive himself, he “succeeded in saving precious lives on ground.”
No other loss of civilian life or property was reported in the incident.
