During the conference, Rahul's ex-lawyer Neeraj made shocking revelations about him. "Rahul was partying with a girl at Bora Bora restaurant on March 31, the night before Pratyusha committed suicide. He even fought with the girl," said Neeraj
He also added, "Rahul's modus operandi was to introduce actresses to drugs, con them and then dump them." "He did the same with Pratyusha Banerjee," said Rahul's ex-lawyer.
Neeraj also disclosed that Pratyusha was drinking heavily on April 1 morning, the day she died. "If Pratyusha was drinking since morning, how was she conscious to tie the noose and hang herself. There were injuries on her nose and cheekbones," informed Neeraj.It's fast turning into an episode on Crime Patrol! Now, police are on a hunt to track down the missing 24 lakhs from Pratyusha Banerjee's bank account. After her parents claimed that the big amount was withdrawn from the slain actress' account in November last year, police began investigating into the finances of Pratyusha and her boyfriend Rahul Raj Singh. According to police sources, Pratyusha's bank balance is zero now and the trail of money is not known to them. All of it was among the earnings she got through participating in reality shows like Bigg Boss and Power Couple, in which Rahul accompanied her. Police have stated it will be investigating all bank accounts to find where the money went. It also informed that Rahul held Pratyusha's debit and credit cards.
Pratyusha allegedly hanged herself at her residence on April 1. While Rahul has been charged with 'abetment of her suicide', some reports also stated that Pratyusha was hit as well. Her lawyer in a statement has given 15 reasons why Rahul should be taken into custody. Out of many other things, the lawyer said her suicide was a 'pre-planned murder'.
"Rahul never let Pratyusha talk to her parents. Why did he not inform the police after her suicide which he should have done in the first place. We did not even find any suicide note, probably Rahul has destroyed all the evidence against him. Rahul has had a record of cheating seven women and duping around Rs. 25 lakh in the past and hence, according to him, it can be a pre-planned murder." - LawyerPratyusha's suicide case is getting messier as Rahul is admitted in a hospital due to ill health since April 3. Police have sent Pratyusha and Rahul's mobile phones to FSL for deleted data recovery. Also, the couple's e-mail and social media accounts are being monitored for more evidence.While opposing the anticipatory bail plea, advocate Falguni Brahmbhatt told the court that murder could not be ruled out. She alleged instead of calling the cops immediately after the incident Rahul chose to take the body the hospital and dump it there. She further alleged that he also fled the scene and was found only a day later. Public prosecutor Datta Mudiganti also spoke about Rahul's post incident conduct and said that his movements in that time needed to be ascertained.
The anticipatory bail plea was filed on Wednesday. The seven-page plea stated that Rahul gave 90% of the money the couple received from the TV show "Power Couple" to Pratyusha, despite earlier agreeing to divide the money, out of "love and affection" for the girl he was going to marry.
Pleading innocence, Rahul, in his plea, referred to the statement of an actress named Jazz, who said that the couple shared a good relationship, were happy and did not have any problems. Rahul also claimed that Pratyusha had four bank loans and a car loan which she was unable to repay, and when recovery agents came to seize the car, he intervened and ensured it was not taken. The plea also stated that contrary to claims, it was Rahul who was paying the flat rent and he had even paid the Rs 1 lakh security deposit. The plea said Rahul intended to marry Pratyusha and had introduced her to his parents as his fiancee and also gave her a diamond ring and ornaments.
Meanwhile, doctors attending to Rahul said that he still has suicidal tendencies. "I cannot leave him now because he can do anything. He is still on medication and becomes violent when effect of medicine wanes," Dr Santosh Goel, said. The police has not given any indication regarding the arrest. They are waiting for the medical certificate of discharge to arrest him.
They suspect Rahul was in a relationship with another woman about which Pratyusha was depressed. Rahul, who is currently admitted in the hospital is yet to be discharged.
Rahul was booked for the abetment of suicide after police registered an FIR based on a complaint filed by the actress's mother Soma at Bangurnagar Police Station. A case under IPC sections 306 (abetment of suicide), 504, 506 (criminal intimidation), 323 (voluntarily causing hurt) of IPC has been registered against Rahul.
